OVERVIEW
VRscans are ready-to-use materials for your V-Ray 3D projects. Through a unique combination of hardware and software, Chaos
Group’s patented material scanning technology captures physical material samples and creates digital replicas that are ready
for photorealistic rendering. VRscans materials are currently compatible with Chaos Group’s Academy Award®-winning V-Ray
renderer for 3ds Max, Maya, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, and Modo.
VRSCANS LIBRARY & PLUGIN
The VRscans Library contains over 1000 of pre-scanned materials ready to be applied to your V-Ray 3D visualizations.The growing
collection includes samples of car paint, fabric, leather, wood, plastic, metal and more. These materials are drag-and-drop and
ready to render with V-Ray using the included VRscans plugin.
VRSCANS SCANNING SERVICE
For custom materials, Chaos Group offers the VRscans Scanning Service. Customers send in their physical material
swatches, which are individually scanned and captured. The material sample is sent back, along with the perfect digital match
as a VRscan file.
